The Word On The Street Lethbridge welcomes author Angie Abdou to the growing lineup of authors performing at the festival September 25th.
"Anything Boys Can Do" author
Angie Abdou is a fiction writer and teacher with a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Calgary. BC BookWorld called her short story collection, Anything Boys Can Do (2006), an “extraordinary literary debut” and the Victoria Times Colonist commended its original take on female sexuality. The Globe and Mail praised her first novel, The Bone Cage (2007), for its “beautiful writing” and The Quill & Quire called it “vivid, intense, and authentic.” A 2011 finalist in CBC Canada Reads, The Bone Cage was included on Canadian Literature’s “All-Time Top Ten List of Best Canadian Sport Literature.” Angie’s second novel, The Canterbury Trail (2011), is a black comedy about mountain culture. Angie was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and now lives in Fernie, British Columbia, with her husband and two children.
